Books are influential! They contain what we need as readers to look beyond ourselves and the world around us. They help us to discover what is “out there”. Just because a book does not reflect the world around us, doesn’t mean it’s not necessary for us to read, it is quite the opposite. Reading these kinds of books are an integral part of helping us understand people with disabilities.
